Yay!

They got a new MH370 search underway!

Is you missed it, the reason this makes sense is because people invented a new way of tracking the location of the plane, so we have now reasons to believe the location of the search is more precise than on the previous attempts.

The key trick is something called WSPRnet. It's a database of radio amateurs sending signals across the globe an then recording specifics of the reception quality.

An aerospace engineer figured out a way to spot when the signal had bounced of a plane wing, and because the South Indian Sea had very few aircraft moving in it at the time of the disappearance, it was possible to isolate the hits made by MH370.
