Looking at the situation from outside, the 40% approval rate that Trump still somehow has seems ridiculous and plainly dumb.

In any country with a truly free press – with no sizable chunk of it at the beck and call of the president's party – his approval couldn't be this high after a year like the last one.

Are the Americans not learning anything?
