Phew, managed to get my Kindle purchases stripped of DRM and imported to Calibre—including a zillion comics I bought from Comixology back when, before they got eaten by Amazon.

These instructions work, but downloading the books one by one like this is a pain in the ass. I downloaded an older version of Kindle’s PC app, and while I still had to click download like 1245 times. it meant fewer clicks than using the website. I'll link those instructions in the comments.
